چکیده
Abstract Land use/land cover change is a global environmental problem that significantly affects sustainable development and quality. Anthropogenic activities are one of the main driving forces land in developing countries like Ethiopia. This study conducted Geba watershed southwestern parts aimed to analyze over past thirty years using geospatial technologies. The present uses Landsat TM 1990, ETM + 2003, OLI/TIRS 2020 examine between 1990 2020. classes classified supervised classification method with maximum likelihood technique. Results show agricultural increased significantly, from 1786.6 km 2 (37.2%) 3163.2 (65.8%) 2020, representing an rate 45.9 /year. On other hand, dense forest has declined 2129.2 (44.3%) 1127.8 (23.5%) which declines by 33.4 Our findings suggest use planning management critically important area.

Dynamics of land use and land cover change (LULCC) using geospatial techniques: a case study of Islamabad Pakistan
One of the detailed and useful ways to develop land use classification maps is use of geospatial techniques such as remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS). It vastly improves the selection of areas designated as agricultural, industrial and/or urban sector of a region. In Islamabad city and its surroundings, change in land use has been observed and new developments (agriculture,...
متن کاملAssessment of Terrain and Land Use/Land Cover Changes of Mine Sites using Geospatial Techniques in Plateau State, Nigeria
In this paper, we report a geospatial assessment of the selected mine sites in the Plateau State, Nigeria. The aim of this work is to determine the impact of mining on the terrain as well as the Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) of the host communities. The Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM) is used for the terrain mapping. The derived impact of mining on LULC between 1975 and 2014 is determined...
متن کاملInvestigation of the process of land cover change using metrics and land change processes in Gorganrood watershed
Aims and Background: The present study purpose to investigate and predict the changes of metrics and Landscape change processes in the Gorganrood watershed in Golestan province. Methodology: First, land cover maps were prepared in 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2020. Then predict land cover changes for future conditions, under two scenarios (1) continuation of the current trend of change for 2040 and (...
متن کاملLand Cover Change Detection Using Texture Analysis
Problem statement: It is an important task to detect land cover changes from remotely sensed data for environmental monitoring. Although there are some applications of visual textures to the land use, they are limited to a few land cover categories with the application of one texture measure. Since land cover types are complex and often the integration of various objects, applying one texture m...
متن کاملLand cover land use mapping and change detection analysis using geographic information system and remote sensing
Land cover/land use categories are relevant components in land management. Understanding how land cover/land use change over time is necessary to assess the consequences of humans and natural stressors on the earth’s environment and resources. The aim of the study was to map and monitor the spatial and temporal change in land cover/land use for the periods of 1977, 1991 and 2016 and to predict ...
